IMPORT REQUIREMENTS TO COLOMBIA
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
Original Passport for shipper and all family members
Visa (Mandatory for Consignee) valid for at least one (1) year
Residence or Work Visa for foreigners
Inventory (in Spanish)
Inventory must show:
FOR ALL MAJOR APLPLIANCES AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, roasters, TVs, VCRs, stereos, computers, etc.) state the Make, Model and Serial Number.
If possible pack all electronic appliances together in a wooden van at the door of the shipping container.
Transmittal documents must show actual weights and volume, delivery details, customer direction and contact phone, payment details, etc,
Diplomats must have Diplomatic Entry Form, provided from the Foreign Ministry by the Diplomatic Mission.

Port of Entry Barranquilla or Santa Marta.
Shipper C/OTRANSPACK LTDA. BOGOTA
Port of Entry Buenaventura.
Please avoid using the port of Cartagena. If you must use this port we will need to give prior approval and special rates will apply.
CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
Only one household goods shipment from one country allowed per family
Shipper must not have imported any household goods in the last five (5) years. Reimports are allowed when owner can provide the necessary export paperwork from Colombia customs for the shipment.
All shipments are 100% inspected and pay a flat duty rate of 15% on assessed CIF value.
Customs may require a Bank or Insurance guarantee that the goods will not be sold for a minimum of one (1) year.
Household goods must arrive within 30 days before or 120 days after the arrival of the shipper / owner.
DUTIABLE / RESTRICTED ITEMS
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products in small quantities are subject to duties and sales tax (Import License may be required)
One sporting weapon with appropriate license is permitted per family.
Only one of each major electrical appliance is allowed except air conditioners which are limited to three (3).
Bedroom furniture must correspond to the number of persons in the family.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
Weapons, ammunition and explosives
Drugs, narcotics and chemicals used to process narcotics
Pornographic material
Uniforms or equipment relating to the Police or Armed Forces
MOTOR VEHICLES
As of 1994 no USED vehicles may be imported into Colombia. (Only diplomatic used vehicles with franchise can be imported with maximum FOB values according to diplomatic rank)
An import license is required and MUST be obtained prior to arrival in country of vehicle.
Do not include a vehicle as part of a household goods shipment. Both HHG's and vehicle can be shipped in a FCL container but with separate Bill of Ladings.
Do not ship vehicles until all documents are in order. Non compliance will result in seizure and extended storage at great additional expense to the shipper.

Copy of Bill of Sale
All documents must agree with the import license.
PETS
Vaccination Certificate
Notarized Health Certificate from Veterinarian at Origin
Quarantine is NOT required for cats and dogs
